Anyone care to share their summer plans? Are you schooling or playing? Got anything special planned?

Just taking a short break from homeschool. My dh has plans to leave his job by then as well. So things are up in the air at my house. We do want to move so hopefully by then the house will be in order to be able to sell. We want to move out to the midwest or maybe even CO. Not sure yet.

We have a busy summer planned. We'll finish school between mid-May and the end of May (depending on how hard the girls decide to work the next few weeks). Our end-of-year testing is May 14-16 so I hope to be finished with school by then. My middle daughter is taking driver's ed in June for 16 days, so I'll have to get her back and forth to class every day (20 minutes 1-way for a 2-hr class). All three girls may go to youth camp for a week in June. All three may go on a youth missions trip to Mexico for a week in July. Oldest daughter is applying for jobs and hopes to start working later this month. Younger two share a babysitting job that is sometimes as much as 40 hrs a week (those weeks about do me in!) AND middle daughter has her best friend coming to visit for 3-1/2 weeks in August. She'll go home September 1 and we're supposed to start back to school September 2, but I may delay it a week and start on the 8th. Oh, and middle daughter turns 16 in August and will be getting her learner's permit, so that means lots of driving practice time for her.

Somewhere in all of that I need to clean out my school room and get rid of everything we've outgrown. All three girls will be high school next year, so anything pre-high school needs to go. And there's still a possibility that our son will be moving back home, so if he does we'll be cleaning out his room to get it ready for him. Hmm ... I think I see a huge garage sale in our future!

I think I may be busier this summer than we are during the year. I may need to start back to school in the fall just to have a break!

Edited to add: The girls quit the babysitting job, after this week. So that's one less thing we'll have to keep up with this summer.

We'll be working our shop most the summer. I think there is sci-fi convention my husband wants us to go to. We don't set anything in stone because too often they don't work out.

As far as school we will be un-schooling it for the summer. We are planning on teaching Simon Japanese and put him in karate and dd may be in karate as well or else, gymnastics.
