I will be teaching an 8 year old and a 4 year old. I know that my youngest child is ready to start learning simple lessons. She is already showing a lot of interest. Also, this will be our first year to homeschool and I need help with the insight of someone who has had experience with this.

I highly recommend Catherine Vos' book "A Child's Story Bible". This is by far the best for kids book out there. This is mixed with studying the Bible with good theology on a child's level.

We are starting KONOS this year. What I love the most about it is that all the units are based on a biblical character trait. For example: Obedience; Attentiveness; Patience; Orderliness; etc. And the units are FUN! You can easily teach several levels at once within the same unit. And the Bible is incorporated in each and every unit.
We really love it.

Hi Kelly

Because of your children's ages I would recommend Five in a Row - www.fiveinarow.com - with a math and language program for your older child.

Konos may be overwhelming for you in your first year,

Blessings

Hi ladies, I have a KONOS question. I bought the unit study that focuses on obedience, and was wondering what age you thought would be a good age to start this with. I have a 4 yr old, and a 2 3/4 yr old and will not be using it this year, but would next year be too early? I realize they wouldn't get a super amount from it, and was planning on maybe even using it again with them in another 3 years or so when they would learn at a deeper level.

What do you think?

Take care and God bless,
Heidi
