I am looking for an Asian style font. Any suggestions? I am also looking for ideas for a bullentine board. I usually like to make my main VBS board 3-D. I am coming up dry with ideas...help. Thanks

Someone on these boards had a site that linked me to some great Oriental Fonts. The ones I've downloaded are called: Chinese Takeaway, Chow Fun, and Karate. Maybe you could do some sort of google search for the names or check out some font sites for them.

I got mine from www.simplythebest.net on there goto asian fonts and it will have a bunch. I am using the chow fun one becuase it is easier to read than karate and also the lower case letters look like lower case letters!
Also look on the list and check out their dingbats-they have japanese symbols and pictures of people, also Panda has panda bears but they are Chinese.

We made a very simple, but elegant, bulletin board just outside the sanctuary. We covered the entire board, even the wooden edge, with a fabric that looks very oriental (it is actually reversable, and we plan to flip it over and use the other side later). We fastened silk cherry blossoms at each corner, attached a large oriental fan on one side of the bulletin board, then spelled out RICKSHAW RALLY on the other side in an oriental font. Several years ago, I had one of the talented men from our church make a small shelf that runs across the top of the bulletin board (about 3" wide). We cut out the dates of our VBS and put one letter or number on several take out boxes, then placed the boxes on the shelf. We also put a few vases with oriental designs up on the shelf (they are the kind that sit flat against the wall), and hung some oriental lanterns from the ceiling around the bulletin board. It is very simple, elegant, and didn't cost a great deal of money!

I am a big fan of my little shelf, because it will hold a variety of items (I often wrap square boxes in wrapping paper that coordinate with my bulletin board and put letters or words on them). I really love 3-D, and the little extras around the board!

The oriental font that LifeWay used is a commercial typeface called Ginko. In the teacher's book, the body copy is another commercial font called Gill Sans. Both of which can be purchased and downloaded from www.fonts.com.
I'm not sure what the "bambooish-looking" font in the logo is. The headers in the book looks similar to Papyrus, but that's not what it actually is.

You can get the "official VBS" font, "GINKO" free here:
http://www.grsites.com/modperl/fontview.cgi?dir=g&fn=GINKO

Don't spend $42+, get it for free. Enjoy!

OK, I've got it, but I can't do anything with it! I need a font I can cut and paste and make actual words with. I can't seem to download any of the suggested ones off the Internet. My computer doesn't read them.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
