A couple of years ago the company I work for tried selling Christmas lighting (contractor grade) and I think we have some overstock. I believe we are selling it just above or at cost. Anyway....we have strands of single colored lights such as purple, red, gold, maybe even blue and orange (I'll have to check). These may work great for the northern lights if you have someone willing to punch holes in cardboard and stick them in. I think we even had some that are called "ice" which have clear, white and blue bulbs. We also have lighted snowflakes (12", 24" and 36") which is what I used in my "Glacier Pass" missions area along with painted icebergs. The kids loved it! I would be interested in finding out if these items could be sent to me ASAP if no one else has spoken for them. I would be glad to pay for them and the postage.
