Hey everyone, I teach 2 and 3 grade music, but I also love to incorporate a short skit to start off each morning, does anyone have any suggestions? I have a team of 5 teens who are very talented and creative, so I can use just about anything. I would like the skits to follow the Jpanese theme, but if anyone has ony about the Bible stories, or maybe ones that might fit the songs, I would love to have those too! Im just hoping someone out there has some short skits that you can share!
Hello from Hialeah, Florida. Were you able to get any skits together? I'm racking my brain to have an opening monologue for each day that incorporates something about Japan with a segue into the theme. I can't seem to find anything in the materials I can use. Our VBS is August 2-6. Thanks. Ivy, VBS Directors North Hialeah Baptist Church iperchitti@pblmklaw.com
YES!! I did, I dressed up in a kimono and put Chopsticks through a bun on the very top of my head. I called myself Madame ooh. It is short for the Japanese words of "Change me Jesus" I said the name really fast and then told them to call me Madame ooh. Everyday I would just come up with something new to do and improvise my way through each class. Madame Ooh can act as crazy as she wanted so one day she would play "Bamboo Limbo" and go through a crazy stretching routine. The next day she would "try" to play a guitar and "sing" (horribly of course) Every day the children would pick from the "Pool of Shining Waters and Swimming Fishes" for the song we would be singing. Madame ooh was just a small 3 or 4 minute intro that would warm the kids up. For anymore questions feel free to email me at sierrasunshine76@yahoo.com. Thanks! I hope this helps.
