Last year I was able to get pictures from other churches that showed how they decorated. I can't seem to find that on the website this year. How do I find this?
I have some pictures I took of the decorations from my kindergarten VBS class. I thought it was going to be difficult but it actually came together. If you have an email address and a program that you can view pictures with I can send them to you.

Please email me at jas@jesup.net any pictures of the VBS decorations. Thank You
Yesterday I was at a TJ Max and More store and I found large paper fans, large paper parasols and best of all imitation bamboo stalks that are green and come in to widths 2 1/2' and 4' they are both 4 feet long and are green. They cost $2.99 for the small one and $6.99 for the wider one. Dont' know exactly how I will use them but I know I will. Also, they had bamboo hanging printed curtains for doorways (really cool) also Oriental Trading Company has lots of decorations, promo items, fortune cookies and toys from Japan. I also heard that there is a company who is going to put each days verses in fortune cookies! Is that true? Could someone let me know?

I would love to have the pictures also. Thanks, dhecbc@juno.com
Just ordered some fortune cookies from Lifeway for a clinic we are having next week. You have to purchase them from a Lifeway store. a box of 100 was 19.95 and they have the bible verses (holman version) for each day inside. They taste great. Gave some to the ministers yesterday at staff meeting. They were happy to see the bible verses inside instead of lotto numbers!!!!!!

Don't forget that your association usually holds a VBS clinic before the VBS season kicks off! Here is where you will see the latest and greatest from the VBS state clinic. If you are having trouble envisioning Japan, start looking on the internet and the library. Check out the catalog www.asiaforkids.com it has stuff from Japan that may be helpful. There is a book in there about Japanese customs and celebrations that has a ton of pictures and is a great help. Remember that we need to be careful of how we present this and be respectful of the American Japanese communities around us. I attended the Glorieta VBS clinic and they reminded us that there are things like a Tori gate for example that you really wouldn't want to use because they are at all the entrances to their temples and other places. The Tori gate is the red or black rectangular arch that you see alot in pictures of Japan. You just have to be sensitive to this.
