In the 3s-Pre-K leader Guide, it says to use the starfish from the "Theme Shapes" on the CD-ROM. I have double-checked, and there is no starfish on ANY of the preschool CD-Rom files. Is there somewhere else I can get it? Or should I just make the Bible bookmarks from another shape?

MrsStephanie,
The starfish was omitted by mistake. We will post a starfish shape in the download section of the VBS Web site soon. I'll provide the link here when it is available.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

This is the first year that I will be directing babies through three year olds. I have been told that last year the activities were over andthere was still lots of time left in the schedule. Since two and three year olds have short attention spans, what is everyone doing to keep the children interested and learning during the three hour time block? We are considering adding more crafts and activities..

Please pray for me as I take this on...

Trulock2,
I teach Preschool and have the opposite problem -- not enough time!! Just depends on the teacher, I guess. Did you have the kids rotate to anything special?

This is my first year, so I am not exactly sure what they did..I was told that they had rotation areas? I am not sure..I am just going on what other have told me...maybe they skipped some activities or something..

Do you guys include the nap, because we do not. Maybe that is where the time issue was...

Nope, no time for nap! :-)
In a 3-hour schedule we rotated the Preschoolers to 20-minute sessions of Music, Snack, Missions, and "Recreation" (we have a playground). The classroom teacher did the lesson, the craft, and the centers as set fourth in the curriculum. Maybe your teachers didn't do centers, which would definitely leave them with extra time. Hope you can solve your preschool dilemma, 'cause those guys need to be busy, busy, busy!!

Our 3's-pre-K do the early arrivial activities, and then have the Bible story & center time. Kindergarten starts in the worship rally with the other kids & then go to classroom for bible study and some center time. They (3's-K) rotate to crafts, music, missions, snacks and recreation. They go back to the room at the end of the day for some closing time and then to the worship rally. the Kindergarten stays for the entire rally but the younger kids go back to the room to get ready to go home. Sometimes our twos will rotate to the sites as well they just won't stay in there as long. They all will do some other kind of craft in the room in addition to what they will be doing in the crafts area. Over plan! I would rather have too much to do than not enough!
