My name is Doug and I have written a book called, “The Guild”. I preach at a church of of Christ in Southwest, Oklahoma. The Guild within the book was the result of the world going into the dark ages and a group of scientists, theologians, and philosophers forming a secret society to preserve knowledge. The book is set in contemporary times. Michael meets and is attracted to a girl, but something is different. He slowly discovers that Jane is a Guild member. He is invited to join The Guild and they are married. There is a competing Guild group called The First Caste. Michael and Jane both get caught up in a conflict between the two competing guilds. The protagonists are Christian and the book contrasts the Christian and the humanist world views.
