I have a question? One that I have asked myself and talked to God about on many occassions. We are a new Church that has been going for a few years. I have only been there for 4 months and have took an active interest in the youth of our church. I was placed on the youth account. Then I was voted to be VBS Director along with another lady that has been there for a while. We are preparing to have our first VBS now. I feel that we need to have our Youth classes going so if the children decide to stay with our church we will have a youth teacher.
Here is my thought. I'm new at this church I have one member that has acted as if she is offended that I have moved up in the church so quickly. She has actually went so far as to borrow a cd (that was necessary for me to have back for VBS to learn the music portion to teach the kids during VBS)We decided to loan it to her for a couple days and she has tried to avoid me and the other director ever since. I have ran into to that same additude with her when it came to doiong other things in the church. Shes a nice person but wants everything her way and diesnt want to do the work or step up to the plate and take her role in the church. I don't know if she is jelous or mad because im the one doing what shes afraid to do.
What do you think ?
Please pray for me ! What would you advise me to do. Also
where is the best place to pull youth lessons from?

DO I EVER KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. I am the new Youth Pastor at my church and was placed in that postion after only being there 9 months. This is a church that has grown by leaps and bounds and there were other youth leaders there. The differance is they had their agenda not the Pastor's Heart. After talking with my Pastor without knowing what was going on in the church he told me I was the answer to years of praying. Well when I was elevated over afew people they became ...well you know. I am slowly winning them over by loving on them and showing them I am not out to take their postion but to do what is right by our youth. The best advise I cangive to you is the same..... LOVE ON THEM TO WIN THEM OVER.

I will do so. I have so tried to get this one lady in the church to understand that I pose no threat to her. We have went so far as to plan a fall Haunted Trail and the lady went behind two our backs to change our plans and have things her way so i really dont know what else that i can do to satisfy her. The real sad part is her child does not even come to Youth services The only time they come is for youth funded trips and special events that we have for the youth this is what gets so frustrating . I pray that this will change just pray for us and i will pray for you and your new chruch
