This was our first year as directors. When we started, worker recruitment was going terrible. Finally we got everyone we needed and we had extra workers. Today was our last day of VBS. It was the most amazing week. We had the most amazing weather (except we had rain today). We had an awesome group of very well behaved children. And the most wonderful incredible thing of all is we had 8 professions of faith!!! and there are still several children that our pastor has to talk to. Our numbers were down from previous years but God truly blessed all of us. We were able to see his amazing hand at work. This was an incredible experience for me and i will definately want to do this again. Some people thought i was crazy for taking this on but God was definately telling me to go for it and it was awesome to see the outcome! I was a little worried at first but we could not have asked for a better week. We are having family night tonight and plans were to have water games but we had a lot of rain today and it is 68 degrees in an area where it is usually above 90. So we had to make a few changes but i know God will bless it either way. For those that are new directors just hang in there and pray. God will take care of the rest!!!
nene, I'm so glad your VBS went well! I always love to hear a first time VBS director so excited about doing it again, because this ministry is so vital to churches! Start getting ready for next year now, evaluate how it went, what worked well, what didn't work as well, and brainstrom with your workers for new and better ideas next year. Keep it up!
