Really? And I thought i was taking the summer off.................?
Oh but Beth says it is best done with a small group, so I think she doesnt want women to do it all by themselves. And my home, with my husband injured and no friends with any degree of time available, is not going to end up being a meeting place. Let me know if any of you plan to do it alone, or if you think Beth pretty much says not to????? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Emmab2002, |

OK, I do see quite a few who cant do it because they already started another group and/or women who say they will be doing it solo.
Amazon doesnt have the book at all, and I do sort of wish that Lifeway shipping was a bit cheaper ( I am coming up with $6.oo). But I'm thinking I might go ahead and get it..... Just curious what you all decided to do? |

Hi there,
I have done many Bible studies between God, myself and Beth [via the cd sets & the workbooks], as well as other Bible study teacher's studies. And, I have found that I still learn a great deal from them. However, this one wouldn't be completely "on my own", as the blog will be there this time. How awesome is that? And, unfortunately, I have had a very difficult time trying to convince women up here in Southern Wisconsin to give Beth's "in depth studies" a try, however they just claim that they do not have the "time", even though I have told them just how anointed Beth is as a Bible teacher. And, I understand that I am a woman who is not married, nor do I have children at age 40.5, yet, I just get so much out of studying His Word, so I guess I just try to prioritize my time in order to do them... And, I just cannot seem to learn enough about my sweet Savior and how to apply His Word to my life! In Christ's Love, Jennifer |

Jennifer, I'm still thinking on it and hoping they dont sell out all the books since Beth's blog is suggesting where to buy them!
It would be very cool to have her facilitate a discussion even if it is by blog. How often do we get her thoughts on other material? Still thinking, but leaning that direction..... |

Let's link up here, too. Have a thread commited to the study and meet on the alternating weeks when we don't meet on the blog or perhaps we could meet every week in preparation for the Beth sessions! Whatever... I think it would be good for those here who are doing the study solo or in a group. We are our own "community" at any rate.
Emma, Do you have a Lifeway near you? If not you might try Mardel's or Family Christian stores since this does not seem to be a Lifeway exclusive...I know Mardel's carries Lifeway Curriculum. Anway just a thought. B & N might be an option if you are mail ordering! |

OK, I think I will look around and see if I can find it. I have some rewards points where I can purchase from Barnes and N. so maybe?
It would be cool to discuss here too. We dont have a Lifeway store per se, though my church has a Lifeway connected bookstore. Never thought they might have it there (duh moment.....). |

OK, I did buy the book. Just an FYI, the author's web site says the workbook (and this is what we are supposed to get, not the paperback book) is only available through Lifeway and Lifeway stores.
I figured it looks like a good study, no matter when I fit it in, though with Beth it will be better. |

I just got my workbook, too. My 20 year old daughter & I (& maybe some more young ladies) are jumping in - we are excited!

I just ordered the workbook. I don't really have anyone around here to do it with but I like your idea Michelle.

This is working out well for my schedule.
I think my workbook arrives in today's mail. I do hope we can have a discussion here, or at least in a special thread here? Getting excited about this one! |

If no one is opposed, can we start a thread for the discussion next week (is that right)? I would be willing to co-facilitate with someone or facilitate. I think for those of us who are doing this solo maybe we could plan to eat the recipes and share how we liked the food we ate - or anything we added to make it "our own", and one thing about our week or day that was good and a prayer request before starting the discussion. We could try to meet "live" forum meaning we plan a time to log in and "discuss the material" in real time with one another the nights other groups are meeting face to face. I could post the discussion questions from Beth's blog earlier in the day and then we can come back and talk answers as well as add a few of our own questions to the mix... What do you say? If you want to try the real time forums please email me and I will see if we can work it out!

I am for it all Michelle. Especially the 'real time". I am available most of the time except in the mornings Mon. Wed. & Fri. when I have cardiac rehab. But I should be home by noon on those days easily.

Beth takes her registration Tuesday and then starts the following Tues. Are we supposed to start the homework yet????
I dont know I will manage the recipes, and maybe not live chat. My husband is having some problems with this knee thing (his injury) and I tend to be tending to him until I have time to myself. That usually ends up being late at night. He is one of those guys who prefers I not sit on the computet while he is down watching TV etc, but after he goes to bed (9 Mountain) then I am free. Anyway, am certainly in for as much as I can possibly do. I decided this will be my study for the next few months..... |

Saint Deb and Emmab,
Okay, I will register with Beth tomorrow. I believe we are supposed to at least be looking at the homework. There are no videos or anything to consider so I don't see why we shouldn't begin the homework. I have actually read through the introduction and completed day one. But, I will save that for another day. Well, even if you don't do the recipes, maybe you can just learn from us if it is something you want to try... If you cannot do the live chat forum then you can always come by and read what others are saying and post your insights and we can all interact during the week, just like phone calls to our friends and study partners. I just want it to be as much like a real study group as possible. Well, I have to go - we are off to Wal-Mart to get some last minute things before readying ourselves for Britt's graduation tonight! Blessings all! |

Hey, would you all please continue to pray for my husband? I think I told you, he tore his knee up and cant have surgery until a large blood clot in his leg goes away (July or after, the treatment ends mid July for that clot.)
he's in lots of pain from this stuff. He went off pain pills, trying to be brave but now is on them again. They really alter one's personality. He keeps trying to go off them, and then is successful and then ends up right back on them. It kind of causes stress for our household. One reason I cant say what I will or wont be able to do. Am praying Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. My desire is to really carve out time to study and to destress a bit here! I seem to fritter life away with messes. Thanks so much and yes, I will begin the homework right away too. Love and blessings. |

Emmab, praying for you and your hubby. What are they doing for the clot? Just wondering as I am on coumadin and wondered if he was too and like me having to get a plenty blood tests to keep it where it is supposed to be. The pain meds are difficult...need them and yet so addictive and they do play havoc with one's personality. There is one I take at times for migraines and too much of it makes me really cranky to say the least.
I am looking forward to the study. I read the introduction and it was good and convicting. |

Yep, go to Living Proof blog tomorrow.
My husband is on a research drug, so we dont get too much information. It's a new drug trial, phase three. Supposedly it is working to take care of clots, without all the blood tests. But scary because we get almost no info as to how the blood tests are coming out when they do them. We have until mid July, and then hopefully switch back to the knee surgeon and then have a dopplar to check the clot out again. Thanks for the prayers. Did you have a DVT Deb? |
