Hi, I have been in a Women's Ministry in our church since its inception 30 years ago. Four of those years I was president. When you are the president all the complaints fall into your lap. Our women played an important part in the church. I found that we each have different gifts that God has given us. When a woman realizes her gift, she is more likely to use it, but if she is trying to be someone she is not, she will tire and quit. I found when we were working the hardest, maybe to pay the loan off or cooking meals for sick members, we seemed to be more united. Our women also like a spiritual aspect in our meetings. Some will only want a devotion in a business meeting, but there will be a few that will want an indepth Bible study. You will have to find out for yourself how to please each one without making her feel she has to be something she is not comfortable being. Do I make sense? I'm not saying you have to please everyone, that's impossible. What I mean is don't expect too much from each different type of woman. And try not to take it to heart when you are so burdened for them and see no response. Pray, pray, pray. Then listen for God's nudges in certain areas.
