Hello and Blessings to all!

I am preparing a 1 hour conference on creative ways of spending more time with the Lord. We are all busy women and sometimes have to come up with the most unusual places or ways in order to spend some quality time with God. I understand that people might have their own ideas of how spending time with the Lord should be, but I would like to ask that we respect everyone's opinions and just share what works for you. I also pray that by "listening" to each other someone might come out with a stronger and deeper relationship with Christ as a direct result of this forum.

Blessings to all. In Him, Z

I have found I sometimes am lazy when it comes to praying. And recording prayers is not always done, but so valuable.

I sometimes now, type my prayers in MS Word instead. I seem to communicate with others this way, why not with God?

I also like to use a variety of commentaries either online or book. They give new insight to verses and sometimes speak more personally to me. I remind myself there is no way the commentary writer could know what issue I was trying to work through at the time. He wrote the commentary years and years ago. So when it speaks to me I know it is God.

I also get several online devotions which almost always apply to my life that day.

Z,

I highly recommend a Bible study that our ladies' group just finished called AT JESUS' FEET by Kirkie Morrissey. It's a little 105 page 10-lesson paperback that is full of great guides on how to draw near to God. Published by NavPress.

Blessings,
Sharon

I also take intentional times of fasting. I fast mostly from my computer.

Do you know how hard that is?

I tell myself I'm not turning it on for a certain period or day. I turn on Christian music, read the Bible or other Christian book and listen.

I try to spend time with the Lord FIRST thing after I wake up. I fail many times. But I can say when I do put Him first and spend time with Him 1st thing every day, my day goes a lot better. And remember we were created for fellowship with our heavenly father. It is so awesome that we can talk to Him anytime and anywhere!!
