Does anyone use the dramas that come with the Worship Rally DVD? We have used them in the past but they really take up a lot of time that I think needs to be used in the classroom. What is your thoughts on this? Would it be wrong to not show them? HELP!!
We've used the dramas in the past but we're not using them this year. I think it's an individual decision for each church to make. I personally don't think this year's video dramas do a great job of presenting the gospel or the daily themes.
I'm planning on creating some kind of skit to present each day's Bible story and hero statement that will take less time and I hope, be more effective.
We use the drama in our worship rally. However, we were disappointed with the drama this year. Several teachers mentioned that it seemed to be rather slow and as mentioned above didn't do a great job with the gospel presentation. I think last's years kept our kids attention a lot better.
Please see my post "Worship Rally ideas – waterfall, volcano, skit, surf shack, confetti cannons" listed under "VBS 2008 Themes" Forum! I have listed my skit idea that supports the daily themes perfectly and gives a boost to your kid and Pastor relationships! The skits are short so they are easy to learn and you could still show the video as an additional interesting story for your kids in the Worship Rally. The skit only requires two people (with a third person added for the last day). I've also listed specific set building instructions and other O.I. ideas! I haven't been able to post my skit scripts so please contact me and I will be happy to send it to you! We are all in this together!
