If you'll send me your email address, I have some suggestions that a neat lady in Louisiana developed for me to share with people. I can send it as an attachment. It's too big to include here.

There are lots of great ideas out there for teacher appreciation. I bought packs of Tropical flavored Extra gum and gave it to my workers with a note attached saying "thanks for going the extra mile." The best part, though, was handing it to them and thanking each one of them personalkly. We are a small church but I had 35 workers. I went to each one, looked them in the eye and said "Thank You for ..." That meant more than anything, though they liked the gum, too. Wink

Here is the VBS survival kit I use for our workers. Hope this helps. Have a blessed day.

VBS SURVIVAL KIT
A golden thread - to remind you that friendship is the golden thread that ties together the hearts of everyone on your VBS team
Hugs & Kisses - when you need a hug
Toothpick - to help pick out the good qualities in others and yourself
Lifesaver candy- for the times others need your help and you theirs
Marbles- to replace the ones you've lost during VBS
Mounds bar- for the "mounds" of love and support in your VBS team.
Tissues - to wipe the tears of joy and sadness when VBS ends
Candle- to help light your path to God
Cotton ball- for cushioned support of your VBS team for the rough roads
Bandaid-to heal the pain and suffering during VBS
Pack of gum- so that your VBS team can "stick together".
Crayon-to color your day bright and cheerful
Sponge-for when your love overflows
Penny-so you'll never be broke
Rubber band-to remind you to be flexible
Puzzle piece-without you, VBS wouldn't be complete
a jewel-because you are as valuable as any precious stone!
Pad and Pen-to list the reasons you are going to be on the VBS team again next year
Nail-to help you remember how much you are worth to God

I found packages of "Sweet & Salty" trail mix (it had pineapple and coconut in it) and am attaching a note saying "It's so sweet of you to be salt and light to our kids this week!"
