I've been practicing with the snacks, too. I'm making a trail mix that consists of Golden Graham cereal, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips. I served it in little paper cups and my three year old loved it!

I know there is no snack book specifically for preschoolers, but if you look in the leader guide for each preschool age group, you will find some ideas in there you can use.

We are going to do cupcakes on tuesday decorated to look like baseballs but for the preschoolers, I am going to either decorate sugar cookies or mini cupcakes to look like baseballs. Most of the time if you give a preschooler a cupcake, they will just eat the icing!

One of the supermarket side trips for Tuesday, was to have 'bats & balls' which are grapes & baby carrots. Check out the supermarket sidetrips for each day. There might be some ideas there for preschoolers. On Monday, for example, you could do jello or pudding cups. The pretzel sitcks in marshmellow cream is really good. Use red & blue colored sugar to make them look like sparklers. There are also red, white & blue rocket popicles that you could use for the little ones. My kids love fruit snacks! You could do little biscuits & jelly for Friday maybe even cutting the biscuits in fun shapes with cookie cutters. On Wednesday, in the kinderarten book, they suggest putting the trail mix in flat bottomed ice cream cones. Even cups of applesauce or fruit chunks would be good for preschoolers. I am not really going to have different things for the babies & ones. Just the usual cherrios, animal crackers & gold fish crackers unless mom sends them something different.

Hope these ideas help. We are having someone in charge of the preschool snacks this year and I am not planning on them having to do any cooking except for maybe cookies one day! (I know I can get frozen, uniced cupcakes to serve on Tuesday.) We are planning for over 400, so the easier the better! Just be sure you post your choices so parents can bring alternatives for those with alergies or have a few available.

Becky Sue!
