Does anyone have a schedule for having VBS on Friday night and Saturday during the day? We are thinking about doing that next year.

My church does this! We have the first session on Friday night. We have session 2 on Saturday morning (9am to noon) then we take a break and eat lunch. Session 3 runs from 1pm to 4pm). On Sunday we have session 4 in the morning in place of regular church. Our worship rally is around the time that we would have worship service. So anyone who is not involved in VBS just joins in with us. Then lunch and we have session 5 Sunday afternoon. We don't have usual evening church this night.
Hope that helps. Email me if you have other ?s.

Here are some alternative schedules for VBS. There is a schedule for a weekend VBS and a one-day VBS. Hopefully these will give you some ideas on how you could do a Friday/Saturday VBS.

Hey guys, im so glad i looked this up. First time our church is doing VBS on our own and we werent going to go all out but last minute we've decided to do so. Our vbs is in about 4 weeks and im thinking of squeezing the 5 day Jungle jaunt schedule down to three days. Im guessing i can increase the bible study time to cover two sessions on two of the days. and do the same with the little skits for the wroship rally's (combine two skits for two days). These are the only two things that actually really need to follow the schedule. All five recreation snacks and craft arrangements arent really necessary. This way none of the content from the package is wasted.

So we will be meeting thursday and friday for three hours at night and saturday for 4 hours, The original schedule was for 5, 2 hr days or 10 1hr days. Does this make sense or am i out of my mind?

Hi Bethany,

The link to the alternative schedules for VBS no longer works. Is this information still available?

Thanks!
