I am looking for new and creative ways of doing a VBS commissioning services for our volunteers. Any suggestions???

This was our first year that we held a VBS Commissioning Service. Our choir sang, "One." We showed a clip about VBS. Our preschoolers and I presented each volunteer with a flower that I made out of tissue paper. I tried to make the color of the flower represent the area that they volunteered. At the end, I read them a poem Our pastor talked about the importance of VBS, challenged the congregation to pray for the volunteers, and prayed for VBS. It was a simple service.

If I just hadn't used this song, I would had someone sing the song "Thank you" by Ray Boltz.

I too thought the choir should sing the song "One", but they take a break for the summer. So instead, our music folks and my co-director and myself are going to do the motions to the song "One" as the music trak is played.
