I am planning on making my own fortune cookies. I need some ideas for sayings. I will be teaching in the 3rd & 4th grade area. I would appreciate any help I can get.

I plan on using the VBS motto and scripture verses from lesson. Here is a recipe if you do not have one:
Fortune Cookies

8 egg whites 2 cups sugar
1 cup melted butter 1 cup flour
1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons water

Separate the egg whites and beat them until they form stiff peaks. Blend in the sugar and butter. Discard the yolks or save for something else. Add flour, vanilla, salt and water to the mixture and mix until it is smooth. Grease cookie sheet and spoon the batter into 3 inch circles. Bake at 375` for about 3 minutes.

When cookies are done, remove them with a pancake turner onto waxed paper. Place a fortune in the center of each circle and fold the cookie in half. Bend the cookies gently in the center, as shown. (If the cookies become difficult to bend, put them back in the oven for a minute or so.)

For Fortunes
Make small strips of paper to write your fortunes on. I plan on using scripture verses and the VBS Logo.

I will use a label program on my computer and choose the size of label I like and then, type my verse. Then, I will print them on white or colored
paper.

Even though the "fortune cookie" was invented by an non-asian American, I think using choice phrases from Scriptures. If your choice phrase doesn't quite fit the little piece of paper, try wording it in how you would say it.
