So- in response to Christine's question "Do you have any shining moments?" I'd like to share two- and they both happened yesterday. I was eating lunch at Taco Bell with my two year old. She had a chicken quesdilla and I pointed to the letters on the package and she was able to say all of them Q,U,E,S,D... and she even pointed out that "There are two Ls, Mom!" That was the first shining moment we had. Note: I've noticed with little ones learning the alphabet, that it is important to let them read real things, like packages and signs, since the letters on them are often crooked or decorative and distinguishing between "messy" letters is a skill they'll need in real life, when they read hand written notes, etc. And the other shining moment took place in Target a litte later. My daughter pointed to the Christmas decorations just as an elderly lady was passing our cart and, by doing so, she hit the lady- hard! Without hesistating, my daughter said, "I'm sorry" as plain as day! It's a fight to get her to say that at home. I was humbled to the point of tears, right there in Target, had the breath knocked out of me! I realized she doesunderstand what I try to teach her! I was grateful for those moments of bliss yesterday and moments like them have and do help to remind me to continue doing what I ought to in my little one's life. Thanks for letting me share and I hope my moments encourage you to share some of your own. Thanks for the idea, Christine. Razz

My son, Daniel, was fooling with his sister's mp3 player. He is a big Star Wars fan. He referred to the player as an mp3CPO.
Cute!

ok, so this is a year late but....
when my now 6 yr old son was little, I would go over his alphabet and try to get him to spell his name. So in spelling his name, Jonathon, he would say J..O..N..O..P..O..P. When he started learning to write his name he asked- where is the o p o p?
