Hi Ladies,
As many of Y'all know, I have not been attending church at my home church over the summer months as my Mom & I have been camping 40 miles away [at least] from my "home church" where I became a member last year. So, when I received these letters from there [Rock Valley Chapel] late last week, I was dumbfounded. Basically there have been a small group of members [yes, sadly in the body of Christ], who have been causing major problems, and now not one, but BOTH of my dear pastors are leaving by Aug 24th... This basically leaves the church "pastor-less"... I think I might be able to meet with at least one of them and his wife sometime soon regarding this mess, but it is SO sad... Please pray with me and the friends that I have made there, in regards to where/what God wants each of us to do/go. Pray for lots of discernment for all of us. We would sure appreciate it. Love in Christ Jesus, Jennifer |

Hi Ladies,
I did get the chance to meet with Pastor Phil and his wife, Jenni, this morning to find out more about the mess that has been going on at Rock Valley Chapel [RVC]. Well, it seems that this "small group" of members has not liked our senior pastor since he started working there, as he wasn't a "double" of their former pastor, who did nearly everything "exactly" the way they wanted him to do them. And, later on, Pastor Phil apparently was voted in to be their secondary pastor about 3-4 years ago. However, the one thing that I am so grateful to God for, is that the Lord never allowed me to notice this "hidden hostility" in my home church. So, now I just need to have prayers for discernment as to where the Lord wants for me to attend church once camping season ends... And, who knows, maybe He isn't even planning to keep me in this location for much longer, I'm not sure [as I've been applying for teaching jobs within 100 miles of here, and praying for God to lead me in that search, as well]. However, if I do end up staying in my hometown, some of my friends from RVC have chosen a church where the hubby's parents' are members, and it is the same type of church [denominationally speaking, that is]. So, I may check it out... But, would you also please pray for Pastor Greg, and his wife, Donna, and Pastor Phil and his wife, Jenni, too, that God will lead them and provide for them??? They were so kind to me during my Dad's illness, and the Lord even had both of them show up on the Monday that my Dad passed away, just to pray with me, my family, and my Dad, if he had been strong enough to beat this thing. But, I had called RVC to let them know on the answering machine that my Dad was "on his deathbed", so to speak, on Good Friday. But, my dear Daddy waited until after Easter to go meet his/our Lord and Savior... But, I felt so cared for because MY pastors came all the way up to my hometown hospital just to see us and to comfort us once they found out that my Dad had just passed away shortly before their arrival [as it is about 24 miles round trip]. Thank you in advance. In Christ's Love, Jennifer P.s. A "GodStop" -- The Lord sent us a beautiful rainbow after a hard and fast moving thunderstorm came through here near the end of supper time. Hi there,
This past Sunday I went to see my senior pastor's last sermon in "our" church. It was a very good one, and he even prayed for each of us during it. He and his wife and kids will be heading to Austin, TX soon, and I'm sure they would appreciate your prayers for traveling mercies and anything that "comes their way" in the future. After the service both Pastor Greg and his wife and kids were in 2 separate areas where we could say farewell to them all. However, it was very difficult for me to even say "goodbye" to him, as I got all choked up with tears... But their kids knew me a little bit from my subbing in their Christian school a year or so ago. But, their Mom decided to go ahead and start homeschooling them once their twin girls were heading for the middle school. But, I was most surprised at their younger son's reaction to me. He just threw his arms around me and acted like he wanted to cry, but didn't. I reminded all of them that God would be going with them, and would take care of them. They have 3 adopted children, each of whom are very loveable kids. And, I do not know his wife very well, but she seems kind, also. I'm sure they would apprecitate some extra prayers from some of Y'all... for healing, for relocation, for his new job down there, [which, at this point, is not a pastoring job],etc. So, once the weather gets too cold to go camping on weekends, I feel the Lord leading me to "go on yet another 'church hunt'". Although I do have an idea of one church here in town that one of my church buddies' parents go to. So, I will likely try that one out first. In Christ's Love, Jennifer |
