As you all know, our house is up for sale so we're doing everything we can to make it more appealing to other people. One of my challenges is our main bathroom, which we call "the girls' bathroom" since the three of them share it. It's not very big, and having three teen/preteen girls sharing it can make it challenging to keep it organized. What great ideas do you have for organizing things in a bathroom, especially a small bathroom with lots of "stuff" in it?

I'm not much for ideas here. I have two small bathrooms, too. I like to use baskets for storage/decoration but my bathrooms aren't big enough for that. I try to keep only bathroom supplies in the bathroom and things like hair styling impliments, make-up, in the owner's room and medicine in the kitchen.
Could this help?

Yes, keeping their "stuff" in their bedrooms would help declutter the bathroom, but I'm not sure what it would do to their bedrooms! Actually we talked about that just yesterday, and they agreed to go thru their bathroom stuff and only keep things in there that they actually use on a daily basis. The rest will be stored in their closet or the linen closet (which is in the hallway, not in the bathroom itself). Before the house showing this morning my daughter did straighten out their baskets and eliminate one of them. Just taking out that one basket made it look bigger and more organized.

Lori,
Hi - I don't know if this will work for you or not - but I do this.. They are plastic containers you can use for cleaning (think square or round found at home-depot or Walmart/Target) and they have a handle. I use one for my stuff( blow dryer, hair brushes, hair spray, etc and on the other side I have my face products and makeup bag). It fits under my sink. It's ready any time I leave (not as pretty as a piece of luggage, but it's efficient. I grab it to go on retreats or camping. My oldest daughter now has her own with her lotions and hair supplies. They do actually make one specific for this (They usually sell them around back to school time for college kids sharing dorm restrooms). My version is a lot cheaper and a bit larger Smile

How about an over-the-door rack, like those shoe holders? You could put a lot of brushes, curling irons, etc. in those pockets!

We live in a 100 yr old home with no storage so to fix this I put a chest of drawers in--one from the 20's to coordinate-a hanging towel bar behind the door and a shelf on wheels for behind the door...BUT I have each person and do have each girl (me and one daughter in our home) to keep most EVERYTHING in the room-and transport each time...We have vanities and dressers to store. We sold a home this past spring and folks won't look inside your furniture, but they WILL look inside cabinets they are going to buy with the house. I'd neated/clean/declutter them while I am selling...
All the best-
