Today is my sister's 50th birthday. I e-mailed her to wish her a happy birthday. She wrote back, saying that last night her husband told her he wants a divorce. I cannot imagine the pain she is going through! It sure makes me thankful that my husband is only going to be separated from us for a little while. Somehow that doesn't seem so bad anymore. Please pray. Her name is Michele. Thanks.

Lori,
I just saw this. Yes, I will be praying for your sister, Michelle, and her husband. Do they have children?

Quiver,
Thanks for the prayers. They really need them! This is a second marriage for both of them. They both have kids from their first marriages. His are in college and away at boarding school. Her oldest is married, second is in college, youngest is at home with her (16-yrs). They've been married for about 5 yrs and as far as she was concerned, they were very happy. I think this hit her totally by surprise. She and her daughter are moving out and my oldest sister is coming down to help them. I wish I could help, too, but there's nothing I can do, except pray.

I just wanted to update you on this. I've talked to Michele several times. She's doing well. She's renting a house from a friend so her daughter did not have to change schools. She's planning to go back to work at the same company my other sister works for. Then in a couple of years, after her daughter graduates from high school, Michele is planning to move out to San Antonio. She'll be near us, and my other sister, and maybe a third sister who is also hoping to move out there. Michele still owns her house that she had before she remarried. It's been a college rental house for four years now. Her middle daughter will be moving out soon, then Michele will get that house ready to sell. It's a very nice house in a great neighborhood, so the sale should give her a nice financial boost. Her husband is still pursuing the divorce, but he is at least now giving her some money. She was down to her last $1000 before he finally gave in. Overall Michele is doing well. She got some good news last week. Her oldest daughter is pregnant, so Michele is going to be a grandma next fall. She's very excited, as is her daughter. She told me the other day that she truly believes it was God's will for her to remarry, and she believes her husband is making a huge mistake by divorcing her. She is at peace, and she knows that God will see her through it. Thanks for your prayers!
