No good news yet. #7 (who saw the house yesterday) liked it but decided to look for something newer. We still haven't heard any more from #6 (who came on Wednesday) but they're looking at other houses so even if we're still on their list of possibilities, it could be a while. The realtor from yesterday did say the house was immaculate and showed well. That was encouraging! "Immaculate" is NOT a word I would have ever expected anyone to use to describe my house! Smile

Don't think anyone's ever called my house immaculate!
Praying hard for you Lori!

I would settle for "tidy," "uncluttered," "nice path from front door to livingroom." Smile

Well, normally, that's about what our house is like. It often resembles an obstacle course! So that comment by the realtor really made my day!

We had another showing scheduled this afternoon. They said they'd be here between 2 & 4 PM. That's a big window of time! Two of my girls were at a friend's house and my son and husband were at work, so it was just my oldest daughter and me (and the dog). We left here a little before 2:00 and stayed gone until 4:00 -- and they never came Confused By then my husband was home so he called the scheduling agent, who called the realtor then called us back. They'd had to cancel and forgotten to call it in. I have no idea if they'll reschedule another day or not. Needless to say I was disappointed. Two hours is a long time to stay gone when we really had nothing to do. Hopefully we'll get another showing in the next couple of days.

We haven't had any more house showings scheduled yet. I'm trying hard not to get discouraged!

I did have a talk with my son today. It sounds like he's weakening a little on his plans to stay here. He's still not sure, but said he's thinking about coming out with us, at least for a few months. We would all really love for him to come with us, but only if it is what God wants for him. I'm encouraged that he's at least considering it again. For a while he just kept saying he was staying here.

No sale. Frown They said they liked it, but saw another house they liked better. I'm trying not to get discouraged, but it's hard. My husband leaves for Texas on Saturday. I was really hoping we'd have a sale before he left. It could still happen, but not likely. It will sell, some day. I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

We had our 10th showing yesterday. I don't know anything about the people who came so I really won't know anything until we hear from their realtor. But we did get some good news yesterday. It was our daughter's 16th birthday so everyone was home for dinner (a rare occurance around here!) After dinner our son told us that he has decided he is going to move to Texas with us!! I was SO happy to hear that! I've wanted him to go with us all along, but didn't want him to feel forced into it. It was his decision, and he believes it is what God wants him to do. He's still considering moving back here sometime next year, but that's okay. At least he's coming with us initially and will stay at least 6 months or so. So that is a real answer to prayer!

No calls for showings yet, but one good thing did happen. A friend of ours from church is a realtor. I didn't even know that she was one until we'd already listed our house for sale. She's been trying to get over to see it for 2 months now but just hasn't had the time. Today she finally came for a walk-thru. She said things are beginning to pick up, nothing spectacular but at least it's getting to be a little better than the last two months have been. So now that she's seen our house, she's going to try to help us find a buyer.

More good news! Our realtor's scheduling office called and we now have a showing scheduled for Sunday afternoon, 4:00-5:00. All the kids will be at church, so it's perfect timing!

It just keeps getting better! The scheduling office just called again. We now have TWO showings scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. The first is 1:30-2:30 and the second is 4:00-5:00. I am so excited!! God is so good! Whether these work out or not, it is a great encouragement to us to be having showings so close together.

Another update -- #11 (who was scheduled Sunday afternoon) said she came but couldn't find the lock box so she didn't show the house. #12 answered the feedback request today. She said the house looked good and she loved the pool, but the client was confused by the floorplan and couldn't get past that. That's been our biggest problem. We converted our 4-bedroom house to a 5-bedroom house by adding a wall to make the formal living room into another bedroom. For us it works great, but I guess a lot of people don't like it for some reason. Our realtor e-mailed back and asked if they'd reconsider if we converted it back to 4 bedrooms. So we'll see what they say.

Today we had showing #13. I got a call at 10:00 and they were scheduled to come 11:00-12:00. They didn't actually show up until 12:25, but they were in the house for 10 minutes and took one of our flyers, so I think they must have been at least a little bit interested. Hopefully we'll get good feedback from them tonight or tomorrow.

My husband is having a very hard time being separated from us. He's been in Texas now for 10 days, and at times he's been almost depressed about the house not selling and having to be away from us. Please continue to pray for the house to sell, but also please pray that he will be able to keep a positive attitude and not have such a hard time while we are waiting for the sale to happen.

I finally got feedback from #13. They said they liked it but are still looking, but have to sell their home first. They do have an offer coming in, though. So I guess they are a possibility, but not ready to make an offer yet. It gives me some hope, though. We're praying for more showings this weekend.
