I thought it would be fun to tell our stories of when we first realized we were truly homeschoolers....
Me first...... Razz

You know you are a homeschooling family when...
ever little thing you do outside the home turns into a lesson for your child.
I took my daughter to have the oil changed in my car today. We pulled up, told the man what we wanted, then got out to go sit in the waiting room. She almost walked over the grid where the mechanics are underneath the floor and I stopped her and made her go around with me. Suddenly I found myself explaining what the grid was for, who was down there, what he was doing, etc. Suddenly the man turned around and looked up at us. I was a little embarrassed but then hey, how many kids know what's going on in an oil changing station, right?

Thanks for sharing that. I don't home school but I agree and would do the same with my grandkids. Smile

You know you are a homeshcooling family when...

I only know when someone tells me they are. I recall my friend telling me about doing crafty type stuff (with construction paper ???). She was teaching her small daughter about the full armor of God and they worked together making each item of the armor and made it so she could actually put all the pieces on. When she got a little older they hung it on her bedroom wall.

Here's another one I heard ...
You know you're a homeschooler when your class lesson is timed by the length of the dryer cycle. When the bell rings, it's time to change a load and change the school subject!
Blessings,
Christine

SmileI agree with Barbara, I have only been homeschooling for almost 3 weeks, however everything we do is a lesson.

We were driving down the road the other day and played the alphabet game....I see something that starts with an A. The other person guesses what you see etc. We had alot of fun and before we knew it our 1 1/2 hour drive was over!!!!
