To engage active listening and facilitate standing and sitting in Worship Rally, try using short ukulele tunes or nature sounds as aural cues. When the children hear these sounds they'll automatically know it's time to stand or sit or that what follows is something special that they need to pay attention to. Need cues? Thats a really good idea. We have incorporated several sounds into our VBS. We are using native drums to announce the beginning of the procession. We let the kids know this means its time to stand quietly. We used the sound of monkees to signal the start of the outrigger challenge game each nite. We used the snorkel sounds off the enhanced CD to signal time for another song. If you would like a more detailed list email me and I will send you a list of what we used. My email is leggitts@yahoo.com
Have a blessed day! Barb
