Does anyone have a sample rotation schedule for Outrigger Island or a previous VBS? This is my first year as VBS director and I need help. If you have one I would greatly appreciate it if you emailed it to me at wandais@planters.net

How big is your VBS? I may have a sample schedule , but we are a small church. Will that be helpful? Also, are you doing day or night?

I would also like a copy of that rotation schedule if you don't mind .This is my fist time doing this and I am lost on what to do.We also have a small church.So maybe you can help me out ! Thanks

I've got a rotation schedule for a 2 hour evening rotation if you need it.

We are also a small church. As far as rotations go, we are only rotating for crafts, snacks and game time only. We do not have the normal worship rally per say. Ours has the processional, skits, puppets, singing, lesson time, mission and games. We do it all as one group. We have found this works better than rotating to classes. We have the kids in two groups, the Kahuna dolphins and the Island Monkeys. They are grouped at registration. For us we found this is much more productive for the kids since we are so small.

It's really according to what your VBS is like. Do you have a 2-hour, 3-hour or something different? We've always done 3 hour VBS and have tried different schedules. I can give you one of ours if you still need it. I just saw that you posted this dilema in April, sorry.

We have a 3 hour VBS with 5 classes (pre-K, K,1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th) and 5 rotations (music, missions, crafts, rec and snack):

Worship Rally 6 - 6:25
Class Time 6:25 - 6:55
Rotation 1 6:55 - 7:15
Rotation 2 7:15 - 7:35
Rotation 3 7:35 - 7:55
Rotation 4 7:55 - 8:15
Rotation 5 8:15 - 8:35
Class Time 8:35 - 8:55
Closing 8:55 - 9

Ours is similar:
6-6:30 Opening Ceremonies (Worship Rally)
6:34-6:56 Rotation 1
7:00-7:22 Rotation 2
7:26-7:48 Rotation 3
7:52-8:15 Missions Lookout (Rotation 4)
8:15-8:30 Closing Ceremonies

We are doing our missions lookout all together for logistical reasons, but it could easily be rotation 4, which actually would have been better. Our other rotations are Bible, Crafts, Games/Snacks.

Basically, each rotation is 22 minutes, with 4 minutes of travel time. For a 2 hour VBS, you could knock a few minutes off of each one.

Just noticed some questions for a schedule. Our VBS runs from 6:30-8:45 with the Worship Rally from 6:30-6:45. If you email me, I'll email you our rotation schedule.
