We are pulling our son out of public school this year (8th grade). The school has actually been fantastic about it. They have told us that we need to register with the ROE. Is this a good idea? We live in Illinois. One advantage I see to doing this is that when/if we re-enroll him for high school they won't quibble with us as much about accepting his work and placing him in the right classes. Thoughts? Advice?
