I can hardly believe I will soon have two high school graduates! Our writing curriculum over the years has been haphazard.
What do you use to teach writing to older students? Blessings, Christine www.HomeFieldAdvantage.org |

Ours has been pretty haphazard as well. I was lucky with my first. I did not have to teach him how to write. He just writes, and very well. It has always come naturally to him so I really never had to teach it. My second is not that way. She is a good writer, once she gets past her self-doubt and the "I can'ts". This year we want to work thru a book called "Writing Power" which is put out by Kaplan. But right now she's taking co-op classes that include writing (altho' they are not specifically writing classes) and that's enough so we're leaving Writing Power for next semester. I also have Write Shop, but we haven't actually gone thru that yet. I hear good things about it, though, and hope to use it with her in 11th & 12th grades, and with my younger two sometime during high school.
