Hi Ladies,
I know y'all will have some ideas for me! My two oldest haven't yet gone on a mission trip or worldview class or camp. I'm looking for ideas for them that are reasonably priced. Their youth group only does mission trips on an occasional basis and I'm afraid they won't have an opportunity.
What have you done to meet this need?

My church is very blessed in that we are able to do frequent mission trips, both domestic and foreign. My oldest has gone to Pennsylvania, Little Rock, AR, and last year to Slidell, LA for mucking out houses. We take folks who aren't members of our church! Try checking out area churches to see if ya'll can take part!

AFA has a Worldview Weekend in the Spring that meets in Branson, MO, and they take trips to Washington DC with Tim Wildemon and to the Holy Land. That's a little out of my league.

I've taken my family to the local nursing home to visit folks, we have elderly neighbors that we visit and check on, do errands for. My oldest is part of a group of college-aged kids that does community service work around town. They have fixed up a playground for a low-income community, did handy-man work for a widow, lawn care for some shut-ins, etc... It's really great to see these young kids putting feet to our teaching! (We should teach more by example!)

Oh, I just remembered that Answers In Genesis does a Grand Canyon tour ever summer. That's a dream of Husband's; to take us all across the USA and visit places like the Grand Canyon with a Biblical Worldview!
There is a small museum in Glenrose, TX, just south of Dallas that is a creation museum and has an ongoing archeologicallll....(sp?) dig. That's much better for our budget.
