Hi everybody
Nice to meet you all. I have two daughters, ages 14 and 13. We have homeschooled them all the way through. My eldest just finished her freshman year, and we decided to give an online school a try for her 'transition to highschool'. We have been overall pleased with The Jubilee Academy. Like anything first year, we had a few rough spots (their French wasn't so great) but I loved the freedom that an online curriculum provided me this year. all the pros: It's christian it's affordable (paid in payments and about $600) Includes everything - texts and all they use well-known homeschool publishers I maintain control of assignments and grading it's self-paced diversity and number of class choices can choose a class at any grade level for you child They use multiple formats (CD,Book,Text) you can put in credit for extra curricular stuff transcripts, time log and grades all the cons: customer service can take a bit class outlines vague or changed when class begins grading format of some classes (2 tests and 1 assignment grade all the semester?) need to have a good computer system to run fast sometimes overcrowded website and hard to log in. (They said they were fixing it this summer) Overall we loved it. My daughter learned full quadratic equations (earning a B in Algebra) and I did nothing - literally! Okay, so I kept her on track with her work, popped my head in while cleaning the house, and overviewed her lessons. Priceless! |

Hi Hope,
Welcome to the board! Tell us some more about your girls. What kinds of texts are used at Jubilee? Any familiar names, or are they printed for Jubilee? I'm curious because you sure do see them advertised a lot! Blessings, Christine |
