New question ~

How did you decide what your child would take in high school?

Since we register through Crossroads we basically went by their requirements. For electives and areas where there are choices to be made I pretty much let the student choose. Based on what their goals are, they decide whether to take business math (which my son did) or algebra (which my oldest daughter is doing). If they don't know what their goals are, I'd steer them toward algebra and a college-prep course as long as they could handle it. For science my son chose the courses he was interested in. My daughter will probably do a more traditional sequence of courses, but if she (or any of them) have a specific interest in a non-traditional course I don't have a problem with that either. They each can choose their own foreign language and electives.

My first child did an accredited program through Texas Tech (which is a good correspondence program). But for my second child I wanted a little more freedom to pursue his interests. So I based requirements on both state requirements and various other on line/homeschool high schools and set my own basics.
He is finishing and now I will be starting with my daughter. High school is more work as far as planning and keeping up, but the student does most of the work. It has been a struggle, but has been better for us.

Hi following,
Welcome again!
Is Texas Tech accredited? Did your first child go on to college?
Blessings,
Chris
