What other topics headings would you like to see addressed on this message board? How can we make it better for you?

I am not sure this applies here but I would have never known that you had a HomeSchool Thread had I not been going to the Living Thread. I have been a member for three years. Is there any way to advertise this section better? I know alot of homeschool parents and I will tell them about it but it needs to be better advertised.

I TOTALLY agree. And we're working on that! There will be a link added to the Lifeway Homeschool page. Hopefully an article will run soon announcing the message board. We are doing what we can to get the word out, but you can help us by spreading the news with your contacts as well.
This is gonna be a hoppin' place!
So glad you're here!

Thank you!! I appreciate the different avenues you all give us to communicate. You are truly helping so many people. I fit so many catagories and I was at a LPL/LifeWay luncheon and we were asked to give ideas of areas that needed to be reached and this is a great one. I also wish that something would be done for divorced/single parents. I apply there too!!
That is why I love that Beth Moore is doing certain conferences to meet a certain group.(mininters wives/college students)
Anyway, thank you for responding and for your help.
Have a blessed day!!

Ooooh, that's a wonderful idea - a section on this board for single parent homeschoolers. Thank you for blessing us with the idea!

Good Morning and your welcome! I spoke with my best friend and our church has a co-op that meets on Thursday mornings and I told her to share with the moms and dads about this forum. She was excited. Those who have co-ops in their areas could share on here how they got started and what their co-op offers to students. This will be a happeneing place once others learn about this forum!! Have a great and blessed day.
In Him,
Patty

I am registered with the Sonlight Curr. Homeschool Forum and they have some interesting topics that you may want to think about. I don't use Sonlight, but their threads are always interesting. They have Sonlight specific, Practical Issues, Theology & Church,
Medicine & Health, Family & Friends. Hope this helps. Thanks for this forum!

How about a board section on homeschool anecdotes? There are those little things, whether humorous or insightful that come up every so often in homeschool life. These are the things that homeschoolers can appreciate because it's the way our lives are.

Hi! This is a great site! I agree with BelievesGod that an area for divorced single homeschooling parents would be a greatly utilized addition. I would enjoy communicating with other moms who got away from an abusive marriage. I'm sure many of us are out there in cyberland. Thank you!

Greetings, Freed!
Sorry it took me a day or two to greet you. I was speaking at a conference. (Fabulous time was had by all!)
I totally agree with you about the single board. The web master will be making it happen soon! Looking forward to hearing how you have made it work.
Any more you'd like to share about yourself?
Welcome!
Christine

On another forum I am on, There is an "Introductions" category. It allows new members to introduce themselves, tell the ages of their children, how long they have been homeschooling, and what curriculum they are using.

Hi Humpty,
Nice to "meet" you! I totally agree about the introductions section and we're working on it. In the meantime, there's a thread in the getting started section where I'd love to have you stop by and introduce yourself. How old are your kids and how do you do what you do?
Blessings,
Christine

On another site (I think it is The Well Trained Mind) they have thread about plans you have for each grade or age level of your children. It is just interesting and helpful to us new-comers to homeschooling. I asked individually under the curriculum for my children's ages but, I thought others may want to just see what others are doing as well. What do you think?

Hi Christine, I really like Tenfeet's suggestions, may I also add it is nice if people can leave what type of learners their kids are - I try to read as much as I can on curriculum reviews. My Favorite review site real moms leave comments both positive and negative about curriculums, you can get a sense of learning modalities and parent involvement that you don't by reading alot of the curriculum review books (many of which are written by homeschool moms that have higher education degrees and/or were teachers before homeschooling). I want real moms like me...SMILE
thanks,

Hi Christin,
Here is the site: http://homeschoolreviews.com

I like the fact it is written by "real" users.
There are not tons of different reviews - so leave some Big Grin okay smile again!

I though maybe it would be extra encouraging to have a thread on
How Homeschooling Has Helped Grow
your Family Spiritualy ? Or something like that.

I would especially like to hear more stories on how much better the family was after taking kids from PS to homeschool my dh especially needs a dose of reality in this area to put into perspective the challenges HS brings to the home and marriage. I think he wants to too easily give up and start them in PS " If it doesn't work out."

I think a thread started on internet resources or other addresses and phone numbers of places that can offer us helps would be great.
