Hello all,
Some introductions are mixed up in other threads and I though it would be nice to have a special place just for introductions. I'll start!
My husband and I live in Wheaton, IL and we have four children. A girl 16, girl 15, girl 11 and boy 11. Three are adopted, one is bio. We've homeschooled since the beginning, except for a four month stint that my oldest did in kindergarten.
I have a website and a blog. When you introduce yourself, make sure you give info about your blogs/webs too.
Well, that's us. How about you?
Blessings,
Christine

Hi,
I'm new here. I'm a mom to four. A son that's almost 15, a daughter that's 11, and boy girl twins that are 5.

We started homeschooling about 4 yrs ago when my two oldest were dx'd with bipolar. My oldest also has aspergers and my oldest daughter also has very mild cerebral palsy and severe anxiety.

Homeschooling has been wonderful for us and has changed many things in our lives!

This year we started a family business in hand poured candles. I've read so much about homeschooling families running home based businesses, and we wanted to be able to share our candle creations so it seemed like the thing to do!
The kids have also just started a homemade candy booth at a local market as part of their learning.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Hugs,
D'Nea

Mom to 14 yr old son, 11 yr old daughter and 5 yr old boy and girl twins

Hi Christine,
My husband and I live in California and have two daughters ages 10 and 7. I started homeschooling last year (4th, 1st) after my eldest daughter prayed for over 2 years for me to homeschool her. Something I thought I would never do. Now something I could not imagine NOT doing! God is so good, so great and so gracious! I signed up for a blog, but haven't figured it out yet - when I do I'll leave my address. I've really enjoyed the board and look forward to continuing my journey with all the wonderful resource - God Bless You All!

Hi Christine,
My husband and I live in Connecticut and have 2 boys ages 4 and 7. I just decided to homeschool in June. Both of my boys have major issues and PS was not working. I prayed about it and felt that homeschool would be best for my 2. God is seeing me through what I thought I could not accomplish. By truting in him I know I'll do what is right for the boys.

Hi Charm!
Welcome to the board! It's funny how we make our "plans" but the Lord directs our path. I was never going to homeschool either - in fact had never even heard of it! Then the Lord gave such conviction and clarity that it then became an issue of stepping out in obedience.
Let us hear from you again as your time permits.
Blessings,
Christine

Hello! My name is Jamie. I'm in Southest Georgia, and this will be my first full year homeschooling. I started in the middle of last year when driving my daughter to the closest private school took up way too much times. I used to be a public school teacher and knew that I wanted my children to have God as a part of their learning. I've been married to my husband for 8.5 years. He is in the US Navy on a Trident Nuclear Submarine. He'll be going out to sea for 3 months soon. =( My children are:
N - 7 yr. old daughter
G - 5 yr. old son
S - 10 month old son

Congratulations on your first year. I am from GA-not living there now. Sure hope you find some good support around you. It is invaluable when homeschooling to have a network of like-minded families to fellowship with. Ck out the web for a homeschooling group or co-op. Maybe there are some families in your church that homeschool as well. Blessings on your first year. It may be tough, it is for many of us this first year. With the Lord's help-HE WILL help you. Big Grin

Being confident of this very thing that HE who hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Christ Jesus-Phillipians 1:6

Hello All!

My name is Mary and I'm a homeschooler in St. Louis, MO. I have three kids my oldest son is almost 12 and just began 5th grade, next is a son who is 10 and in the fourth grade and my youngest is a daughter who is in the 2nd grade. We've just begun our third year of homeschool. I feel like the last two years I've spent undoing what happened to the kids in the time they were in public school and also just learning how to educate them myself and figure out what I'm doing! I found this board via Christine's site. I found Christine's book "Help for the Harried Homeschooler" at the library and had to purchase a copy for myself. It's one of the best homeschooling books I've read and as a "bookalholic" I've read a ton! Look forward to spending time here, getting to know other moms like me. Smile

Welcome! Hope you stop by often to share and learn.
With three years under your belt, you're a veteran! When you feel comfortable, will you share what happend to them in school that required un-doing?
Glad you found us!

Hi! I am Andrea and I plan to start homeschooling next year. Right now my son Samuel is 4 Elizabeth is 2 and Rebekah will be 1 in November. I am so overwhelmed by the amounts of information there is out there I am glad I have a whole year to research it. Any ideas of how to start looking into curriculums would be great. I want to be well researched and pick somthing that I beleive will work for us.

Hi Andrea,
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you feel welcomed here and stop by often.
Yes, there are huge amounts of information out there - too much. It takes wisdom to sift through it.
I don't want to hear myself babble here. Ladies, let's lift Andrea up in her quandry here. Let's hear your words of wisdom.
Blessings,
Christine
