I posted my first message under the curriculum area last night but failed to do the intro thing. My name is Christie, my husband's name is Shannon. We've been happily married for 17 years. The Lord has blessed us with three children ages 12(13 in July), 10 & 3. We live on 13 acres and our nearest neighbor is a quarter mile away. We are finishing our 4th year homeschooling after several years of private Christian school. We plan to homeschool through high school. As for schooling we have tried all textbooks then textbooks and unit(sorta) studies in the past. The only things we're sure of are Math-U-See and Natural Speller. Everything else is open for debate. Schedules around here are very loose partly for my sanity, partly for the sake of the three year old, and parlty because my hubby works day shift for two weeks then night shift for two weeks. I look forward to taking and offering advice with you folks!

Hi, Christine, Dear hubby works in an automobile manufacturing plant. Other than the odd schedule it is a great, family friendly company.

I think this is the first year of homeschooling that I've actually had confidence in what we're accomplishing. I have been so afraid I would "mess them up" if I didn't do everything thing right. Folks like me really appreciate folks like you and many others who walk the road and share honestly about their experiences. I just finished reading your book Homeschool 101 and it was a great boost. Thanks!!

Most of our property is just woods. We have a few farm animals as a hobby, not a "real live farm" or anything like that! We have a few hens who should hatch chicks around Easter.
