My Name is Judy and I live in Canada. Close to Calgary, Alberta. I have 3 children 16, 11, and 3. My husband and I just celebrated our 22 nd anniversary and I have been homeschooling for five years!
It was not my choice! My first son was born premature and has some learning difficulties so when at grade five he started or was showing us big signs of anger, aggression and depressive withfrawl we had to do something! The school had a psychologist test him and that doctor suggested we take him out of the school system fo rone year - just to let him cool off! I had never heard that advice before. At this time I had just the two children so I decided to bring my son home and keep my daughter in the school system. By the end of the first year he was a well adjusted, happy and polite little man! I had my son back!!! We then brought my daughter home and have never looked back!!!
Our third child was a belated gift from God and we all cherish him. I don't think he willsee the inside of a school, his big brother and sister love to read to him and help him color and , of course; he is petty O.K. with learning videos!
I have met us with a great group of homeschoolers in our community and we have a large group of approx. 150 that meet on friday afternoon for sports. Ususally soccer, floor hockey, basket ball. The people are great and it's nice to meet with a group to have the kids; large or small, socialize.
I pray for patience each day- and each year I re- evaluate my systems. God has granted me patience minute by minute and we think that our kids are on the right track.

If I can say anything- Keep Going!!! Family and parent involvement is what is working best in lots of places (that is what my friends in the school system say is needed most!!!)
