Hello, I have posted a few things on the curriculum feed, so I better introduce myself as well!
My name is Aadel, and my husband is active duty Army. He just left for Iraq last week. We have two beautiful daughters, 6 and 2. We have been married 7 years. This is going to be our 3rd year homeschooling. I had already started "schooling" our daughter before we made it official, it was natural since my mom taught me how to read at home before I went to kindergarten. I just couldn't face sending her to public school, and since we move all the time anyway, we decided to try homeschooling.

Now, we won't do anything else! My daughter is going into 2nd grade material, and she is only 6! It has been wonderful to see her grow and be her facilitator in all she learns! Now we are starting "preschool" with our 2 year old.

We are originally from Nebraska, but have lived in North Carolina, Wisconsin, Kansas, Texas, and now here in Washington state. God has been faithful all the way, and we have a wonderful church that supports us and lifts us up in prayer.

I have been known to be a bit formal with our schooling, we have desks and schedules. I guess that is the military wife coming out. But I do have the ability to be flexible and have been known to conuct a class outside in the grass, to the suprise of our neighbors!

So glad to be a part of this group.

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest, Aadel. I too am a newbie to the site (about 30 min ago). My name is Erika and I live in Oregon with my husband and 4 kids. Boys 9,7,5 and a girl 2 1/2. I am blessed to have my husband work from home so we enjoy lots of "family" time. Married 11 years, lived in Oregon 9.
So far I have 1 LD child (very right brained and very dyslexic) God made him unique and sooooooo creative, I am learning so much about how he is wired and how to teach him. This is more challenging than any "job" I could have. Oh my, I am babbling on.
Hope to encourage and be encouraged. God bless, Erika.
