Has the summer flown by, or what? Did it slip away from you, like it did from us?

Yes, it did! It seems like only a few days ago we were frantically trying to finish up last school year, and now we're getting ready to start another one. Usually we would have started by now, but we had so much going on this summer that we delayed starting school until Sept. 8, so I'm down to my last week of summer. Ana's friend went home yesterday (she'd been here since Aug. 6) so this week is "Home Ec" week and on Monday we hit the books. Today I'm getting groceries and cleaning/organizing our "dining room" (which has never been used for dining). I'm hoping to have it ready for the girls to use as a school area. The girls are cleaning the upstairs -- game room, bedrooms and bathrooms. Hopefully by the end of the day today everything will be nice and clean and organized. Then tomorrow through Friday we'll go over school schedules, get supplies organized, make sure everyone knows where their "stuff" is, and hopefully take care of all those little things that tend to mess up our routine the first few days. Then, hopefully, we'll fall into a good routine and have a productive year. Alysa and Ana will be getting jobs soon so I'm sure that will throw everyone for a loop! But maybe we'll get a few weeks of "normal" in before that happens.

Yeah it slipped by too quickly. But I did get my last sunburn of the summer at a picnic on Labor day! -- think of this one with a happy face! :-)

I am so ready for the Fall and church activities to start up again!
