Since we are new to San Antonio we are hoping to take several day trips and visit all (or a lot) of the sites around the area. Some just-for-fun things like Fiesta Texas, a little more educational like the zoo, and some historical sites like the Alamo. There was an insert in the newspaper a while back (which I kept) that listed several places within an hours' drive that would make great field trips, so I'm planning to use that as our planning guide.
My girls have already done some things. We took a weekend trip to Oklahoma to attend my niece's wedding, and the girls got to go to the Natural History museum their with their uncle. My middle daughter went letter boxing with her Girl Scout troupe, and we all take "field trips" out to our new house every week or so to check on progress. We've actually learned a lot about construction and the whole process of building a house. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Lori in TX, Lori in TX Wife to Ricky Homeschool Mom to A.J. We took our girls to Fiesta Texas today (Six Flags). They have a friend here visiting from Florida so we took four girls. They had a great time, but boy was it HOT!! Next weekend we're planning to go to the Alamo and the Riverwalk, so that will be a little more educational, but still fun.
