This is so depressing! No one's been around much here have they?
I'm here today! Big Grin Kindergarten is going very well. My daughter is way too smart. She's having a blast.
Anyone else?

I'm here. I don't get to check in every day but at least a couple of times a week. It is awfully quiet here lately!

School is going okay. My oldest (11th grade) is having a hard time staying motivated. My son went thru this, too, at about this age. I think they're just ready to be done, and need an extra push to finish up those last couple of years. Overall everyone is doing well, though. We're really busy, as usual, but the girls are settling in to our new home and starting to make friends.

We finally found a church and plan to join this Sunday. This is the longest we've ever been without a church home (about 9 months now) so it will be really nice to be settled again.

Hi ladies, it has been a LONG time since I have posted here. Life has been really crazy this past year. Since most of you probably don't even know who I am, I'll re-introduce myself. My name is Heidi, and I have begun homeschooling my two daughters, 3 and almost 5 years old. Abby is in "Pre-K" and Kristine is in "Preschool" But, I also have a 10 month old son to throw in the mix, so life is pretty hectic around here. I have just began to use the "How to teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons" with Abby, and am about to use "Handwriting without tears" with both girls. Have any of you used these curr.? Also, I am thinking about using the new KONOS "Obedience" curr. next year, but do you think it is too early to do that? Should I wait till they get more out of it, or just plan on repeating it in a few years? What do you think?

I would love to hear your input.

Take care and God bless,
Heidi

Hi Heidi,
I remember you posting a while back. I have not used either of the curriculums you mentioned but have heard good things about them. We did try KONOS for a while when my kids were small. Do you already own it, or would you be purchasing it next year? I haven't seen any of their new units (we tried it in the early '90's) so I don't know how they have changed. If you already own it, it couldn't hurt to try it next year and see how it goes. If you still need to buy it, I'm not sure. Personally, I'd wait, but that's just me. When we tried it I was a bit overwhelmed, and I think a lot of that was because I had babies/toddlers along with my older ones so it was just too much for me to keep up with. But maybe you're more energetic than I was so it could work well for you.
