I'm really considering homeschooling, my children by the next school year.. but I have one that has been held back once and is getting ready to be held back again... due to ADD, and the teacher would like me to find something to put him on because she knows he would do so much better if he could focus.... I understand her point, but I told her I'am not putting him on any medicine.. but he is going to be held back again.. any advice where I can go.. or what kind of material I need...

I have a child with adhd combined. It's a more severe form of adhd from what I'm told. One thing that helps her a little is coffee. Just a little - 1/4 cup coffee and fill up the cup with milk or soymilk (any kinda milk that can be tolerated). I'm also considering getting one of those exercise balls for her to sit on so she can keep herself moving while her mind can pay attention.
The HSLDA is one good source (Home School Legal Defense Association) www.hslda.org - their site has a lot of info on homeschooling. Kids with ADD/ADHD tend to be hands on learners. For math, you can use anything to help learn it - crayons, poker chips, even those cute little frog sets, even Legos can help. A couple of sites that sell curriculum: www.rainbowresource.com (my favorite), www.christianbook.com Also, homeschool conventions are a great place to go to for information and to meet other homeschoolers as well. I've met the coolest people at the one in my state (NJ). You can google "homeschool convention in ____" - your state to see if there's one near/around you. I hope I helped!
