Quiver,
I was wondering about the possibility of another little one coming along when not too long ago you said you were moody. Let us know. Just last year this very week of Nov I was on the floor sooooo sick I just couldn't have energy to sit up!( I rarely get sick like that ) So I had my hopes for a new baby and sure enough after I was feeling better I took a home test and now we have Sophia! If you'll think of me in prayer I have been having problems with my wisdom teeth and I have no choice but to have the plans made to remove them as soon as possible, I really dread this but there is no way around it I've known it should be through two pregnancies. Thankfully I finally have a sweet neighbor that can help with the kids. btw glad those sites are helpful to yu if you like I can send you a whole package of great reading literature from the FEA ministry some of the best written doctrinal articles an booklets that you'll ever come across. Just let me know. I also took the time to read your blog and look at the pics so encouraging to me thanks for sharing and what a wonderful family with a beautiful mom. I sometimes can't believe I will have young men in my house calling me mom someday ! I love those pics of the oldest with the youngest!!! you must be so proud. have a great holiday! |

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I'm up, and my house is quiet. This is my favorite time of the day!
I don't remember what I posted on the other thread. We received an offer on the house Tuesday evening, late. It wasn't what we wanted to get, but after much discussion we decided to accept it. It is contingent on the buyers getting their financing, so now we are waiting to see if that happens. They have 10 days to get their loan approved or the deal is off. But really, they need it to happen sooner than that because they want to go to closing by December 15. That's only 3 weeks from tomorrow! We did not hear anything yesterday and I'm sure will not hear anything from them today, but I'm praying that tomorrow we might get good news, or at least by Monday. Assuming it is approved, we have inspections to go thru, but I don't expect a problem there. Then we have a LOT to do in a short time. Three weeks to get moved is pretty fast, much faster than I was expecting. But it means we will be in Texas with my sister before Christmas!! Traditionally I decorate my house for Christmas starting the day after Thanksgiving. This year, I'm spending the weekend with my mom and kids and trying to relax, but also anxiously waiting to hear if their loan is approved. We may do a little shopping, but mostly I just want to rest and visit with my mom and let the kids de-stress a little. We all need to de-stress! If this all goes thru, the plan is for my husband to fly back here around December 8, spend that last week here with us taking care of the movers, going to closing on the house, and then we'll all drive out to Texas in two vans (ours and a rental). If we leave here the 15th or 16th we should be out there by the 18th. I will keep you all posted as things progress. Lori D Visit our family web site: http://birkdalebunch.com/ |

As my husband would say, "It's conceivable!" OOOhhhh, ladies, I was so very sick but I'm finally feeling better. I wasn't able to do ANY of the holiday preparations but my older children really stepped up to the plate! 12d made enough cookies to feed an army and Husband got everything else ready for Granny's house. All-in-all we had a very nice time. AND my children cleaned up after the meal at Granny's, I didn't have to do a thing. married 20 years mom to eight http://blessedmuch.multiply.com/ |

We had a good day yesterday. Busy, but good. I got some laundry done and started cleaning the house, but then got interrupted. I spent a lot of time on the phone talking to my husband and my sister in Texas. They were out at the buiding site of our new house, picking out our lot, choosing the structural elements on the house, and signing a ton of paperwork. My sister is a big help in all of this because she's had a house built before (we never have). We had discussed all of the structural options we wanted, but then found out we had to choose the brick color for the outside of the house. That's kind of hard to do long-distance! But they were able to e-mail me pictures of the brick so I could see it, and with my sister's help I made my choices. The other options we had to choose were easy to see on the floor plan. My husband also filed the loan application on-line so he called me a couple of times for information for that. It's all very exciting!
My daughters convinced me to take them shopping after lunch. I rarely do after-Thanksgiving sales because I hate the crowds, but I took them to one store to spend the early Christmas money my mom gave them. They all had a good time, so it was worth it just to see them have fun together. My middle daughter was so sweet. She bought a teddy bear for my mom (my mom collects them) and then, after we got in line to pay, she went back to get something else. She came back with this adorable stuffed puppy that looks very much like our dog, and said it was for me to say thank you for taking her shopping, because she knew I really didn't want to. How sweet is that!? Last night we all played a game together. We haven't taken the time to do that for a long time and it was really fun. By the time we finished that we were all ready to relax for a while before heading to bed. My son worked from early in the morning until mid-afternoon then went out with friends, so I really didn't see him much at all. But overall everyone had a very good day. Today we're staying home, finishing up the laundry and housework, and whatever else comes up that needs to be done. We got a reply from our buyer's realtor. They are still waiting on their loan approval but their banker says she should have everything she needs to give a final by Tuesday, possibly Monday. So we wait some more! It sounds like they expect it to go through, but I'll feel a lot better once it actually happens. Lori D Visit our family web site: http://birkdalebunch.com/ |

You went shopping on "Black Friday???" Whoa! You are braver than me!
I think we will all breathe a sigh of relief when everything is approved! I feel like I've been selling your house too! LOL! married 20 years mom to eight http://blessedmuch.multiply.com/ |

You know, it's funny you would say that. I kind of feel the same way. I have people all over the country who I've never even met praying for me, and I told my mom this morning, that's the only reason we've gotten thru this so far! She showed me a picture of her Bible study group, all of whom have been praying for us. It's just so cool for me to know that I have friends like all of you holding us up in prayer!!
As for the shopping, I NEVER shop on Black Friday! But my girls were begging, so I caved in. But we only went to one store, NOT a "super store", and I told them that was all they were getting. It wasn't horrible, but it was crowded. They wanted me to take them other places, but that was my limit. I don't think I'll ever do it again, but at least they have the memory ... My son works at Target. He worked yesterday starting at 5:45 AM (ugh!) He told me this morning that when he got to work, there was a line going around the building. He said there had to be 200 people out there lined up before the store even opened. Not me!! My sister called me on her cell phone. She lives in north Florida. She was calling while she was standing in line at Best Buy, getting her kids' Christmas gifts. They'd already gone thru the line once to get one gift and taken it out to the car. Now they were in line again and had been waiting for an hour. Apparently at BB (at least at theirs) you had to get in a separate line for each type of gift you wanted (TV, camera, stereo, whatever) and when you got up to the front of the line "if" they had any left then you could buy it. But it's possible she could wait in that line for over an hour only to find out they had sold out! Then she told us "I could have ordered it on-line, but it would have cost an extra $40". I'm sorry, I'm all for saving money, but I would have paid the $40 extra and stayed home!! Lori D Visit our family web site: http://birkdalebunch.com/ |

Yesterday, the temp. was 72. Today, it's 28 with sleet & ice. We're supposed to get snow later today and I can't wait!!! Husband's flight was canceled so we were able spend a little extra time with him before he grabbed another flight for this afternoon. My oldest's college classes were also canceled so he came home and make hot cocoa for everyone. It's been a nice time together.
Lori, what's sunny Florida like today? Does anyone know where Christine is from? married 20 years mom to eight http://blessedmuch.multiply.com/ |

"Sunny Florida" was rainy all day yesterday and still a little drizzly today, but right now the sun is out. I think our low temp was 75 and the high today is supposed to be 85 degrees. Pretty much a picture postcard kind of day! San Antonio, on the other hand, is expecting a freeze tonight to follow the rain they had today, so my hubby may have trouble keeping warm.

I have all day today to spend all by myself! My son is out-of-town at a conference, and my girls are spending the day at Disney with friends. We all had to get up at 5:30 AM to get them off on time, but now they're gone and won't be home until sometime this evening. It's only 9 AM and already I have my second load of laundry going, the kids' rooms are clean and ready to show, and the only housework I have left is to clean up the kitchen. It's amazing how much I can get done before 9:00 when I get up before the sun!

Yes, we are in Illinois and we finally got socked with some snow! It's been a bizarre fall with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. We hearty souls in the midwest love the uncertainty of the weather and we were starting to think it would NeVER get cold and awful and then BAM! Here we are with co-op cancelled, snuggled up with hot chocolate.
Ahhh, this is bliss! christine www.HomeFieldAdvantage.org |

We had beautiful weather for a bout a week with the last two days finally getting rain and sleet! Today however is very clear and I hope to go out for a walk with the boys even if it is too cold for the girls.
Hope you all are well and having a great day. BTW I have been struggling with scanning and printing a teacher's mailbox mag from the library if I don't get it to lay flat there are shadows on the scan and then I have to start over. have any of you had your library allow dismantling of the mag and put into some kind of packet or folder for others to use in like manner? It takes so long to not have the pages out of the binding! I'm planning to ask today but would love ideas I could pass on to them. Jacinda |

FYI~~
The Duggar family will be on Oprah sometime soon. The family will be traveling to Chicago on Wednesday, do a run-through on Wednesday afternoon and taping on Thursday. (I forgot to ask when it is to air but I'm guessing Christmas.) Michelle asked me to pass on for prayer that people will be pointed to God. They had done a taping on "The Montel Williams Show" back earlier in the year that was supposed to air around Thanksgiving but may air during Christmas. Again, pray that God will be glorified. Jim Bob and Joshua will be heading to El Salvador on a short-term mission trip. Prayer for safety and God to be glorified. She said she is having "good morning and night sickness." married 20 years mom to eight http://blessedmuch.multiply.com/ |

Maybe my babysitter will watch I think she watches Oprah regularly. I'd like to watch too! We don't have reg. t.v. We'd have to have cable or an antenna installed way out of our $$ ability probably for the better
Thanks for letting us know. Can tell you are enjoying your new fellowship! BTW I moderate/ own a yahoo group about birthing for my state http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/OH_UC/. Anyway I found a new friend that has a lot in common with us - she lives near Columbus 3-4 hours away but has a MIL that lives very near me so I think we'll get to meet in person soon! I feel so blessed to have the chance to have a closer christian sister to share with PTL !!!! Have a great week. Still praying for you LOri! |

I got my socks blessed off today!!
A friend and her three oldest daughters showed up at my house this morning armed with cleaning supplies, a large bowl full of lotions, scrubs & etc, towels, and a full crock pot. She said they came to give me a Christmas blessing and, with my children, proceeded to CLEAN MY HOUSE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She had my supper cooking in the crockpot, (beef tips with potatoes in mushroom sauce), and after she and her girls and my children cleaned and did the laundry AND scrubbed the walls... Then she took the large bowl and She WASHED MY FEET, MASSAGED MY FEET AND MY BACK!!!!!!! I was so overwhelmed that I just cried! What a wonderful friend married 20 years mom to eight http://blessedmuch.multiply.com/ |
