Lifeway had one at the preview conference. She said it was actually for back problems. It was remote controlled with different levels of intensity and you stand on it. It moves just as a surf board would. The only drawback is that it costs $400. I rode it and it was fun... but the cost is a "budget buster".
For a low cost alternative maybe put a surfboard or wood cutout on top of 2 paint cans or 6 inch PVC pipe. Be sure to have someone on each end to prevent the board from getting away from the rider.
I think that was a reallly great idea revbarten but that does sound a little dangerous once I look over the idea again. There are these things called indo boards that are a surfing simulator but those can be dangerous
