We worked on things for a couple of weeks but part of that time was just figuring out how to make the frames for the waterfall(which is PVC pipe) and the volcano (which is wood and chicken wire). The outside of the waterfall is just brown paper crumpled up and taped to the PVC. Then we painted "shadows" by dipping a gloved hand into black tempra and just wiping it on. The "water" is blue plastic tablecloths taped together. It took 3 layers to make it where you couldn't see through it. If you do this, do everything you can while it is laying on the ground. This one is 12 feet tall and took 6 people to stand it up and move it to the stage. It is light but awkward to move. I put a fan behind it to give the water motion. The volcano is also brown paper with gray paint. There is a shelf just inside the opening of the volcano which has a fog machine sitting on it which makes the smoke. Glad you like them.

In the photos what did you do to make the trunks of the palm trees look so realistic? I am referring to the palms that are with the monkey and the surf boards Thanks Robin gotjenks@bellsouth.net
