I am the craft director for our VBS and I share the fellowship hall with snacks and the teacher break area. I made transparencies of the surfboard pattern in the back of the craft book and made 4ft surfboards and painted them and hung the on the wall. I also found a beach ball picture and did the same thing. I took two beach mats and taped them together and hung them from the ceiling to resemble a cabana canopy, made a banner that said Craft Cabana and taped it to the flap of the canopy. I used several different transperiences from the cd, one of them is of a hut and we are going to hang sample of that days craft, the bible verse, story, scriptue, and life truth. This will give them reinforcement of what they are learning that day. I always make a poster of the ABC's admit believe confess. I made a transperancy of the palme tree in the craft book and made large palm trees to hang on the walls around the room

For the Snack Shack I made a banner to hang above the kitchen window and on each side of the window I made 5ft tall palm trees out of paper and taped them to the wall. We have steel support poles down the middle of the room and I am making them into palm trees.

Our VBS is June 16-20, I'll try to take pictures and try to post them.

I also took some of the clip art and saved to to my computer and made posters in print master and hung them on the walls. I hope this helps.

For the craft room I wouldsuggest making GIANT surfboards (6-8 feet). If your children come in in groups then let each group on the first day have one to decorate (names, drawings, etc) Then for the rest of the week you have these up on the wall.
Last year our VBS had the crafts in the family life center and every group came through. Since we did Game Day they had 10 foot long banners and each group got one. The ladies in charge had die cut each group name so we placed that any way we wanted and then decrated them. They really looked great and were instant decorations that the children loved. One of my students went and got it and brought it to me to keep. I love it!!
The link below is a photo of it, but as I said you could take the idea and cut the paper in surfboard shapes.
